A very refreshing session. It needed all the energy, at the end of the session my voice was squeaky and spirits high.
Children are very spontaneous and expressive, how we can use theater to make sessions more exciting was very evident from the session.
Ning Nang Nong poem was v innovative, read by everyone in different styles. The poem itself was funny and the way it was read by a team like horror story tune was v good. When I tried it out at home, my son had 2-3 more new ways, like with echo etc. We had a fun time.
When I showed him how some of the ppl introduced themselves using actions, he was rolling with laughter.
I think reading story in a 'different' way was vvv appealing for me, the focus was on making the story more interesting.
Making puppet and inventing a story around him was vvv creative. How teams made up imaginative stories around the character was v surprising. I was bowled over by the 'Junk Joker' and his GF 'Jakaranda'.
How we can use drama in facing real time situations, got me to think how I can extend it to any situation, maybe even in circle time assignments.
Three cheers to Vidya for unwinding us and make me 'Dance'. I had thought I never can.
Shubha
